Micro (µ)- CT enables the creation of high-resolution cross-sectional images of specimens and small animals (also in vivo) using X-rays.
The maximum object diameter is 38 mm, the maximum achievable resolution is approximately 10.5 µm - with a measurement time of up to several hours per object. The so-called "Scout View mode" also makes it possible to create high-resolution fluoroscopy images. The application area of the µ-CT extends beyond the measurement of objects alone, but offers a series of further processing steps, such as
- 3D reconstructions with videos
- implant contact surface determination
- recording of bone density and structural parameters
- exact volumetric and measurement tasks or
- load situations using finite element simulation.
For specific questions, we develop new interdisciplinary evaluation methods and use contrast medium measurements.
